Walking poles improve balance when walking and hiking, especially useful over rough terrain when walking poles as a pair can be especially helpful to avoid injury but still a single pole offers many benefits in less demanding situations. Fantastic for preventing the strain on your knees coming down steep slopes and work like a hand rail when crossing streams.
